The Adrar Region Extended Tour takes you from the busy coast into the quiet heart of the Sahara. You start in Nouakchott, see the painted fishing boats, the big camel market, and the city mosque. Then you drive to green oases like Terjit to swim and eat fresh dates. You visit small towns and old places like Azougui and Jraif, where you can see old books and simple village life.
Next you cross wide deserts and pass old forts and rock paintings. You will stand at the “Eye of the Sahara,” a huge round land shape that looks very strange from above. In Ouadane and Chinguetti you walk stone streets, see very old libraries, ride camels, and watch the sun melt into the dunes. The trip ends back in Nouakchott for a last look at the museum, the busy fish market, and a warm goodbye before your flight.
